// “At your funeral, your friends and family will argue over who gets what.

People will want food to eat.

The topic will shift from your life to their lives.

They’ll drive away thinking about their looming to-do list…

We die like we go to sleep.

With things unsaid and unfinished.

A reminder of the heavy weight we place on things that matter little.”

Alex Hormozi

Goddamn. How many things I care about in a day that won’t matter a week from now, let alone a year. Petty deals, possessions, squabbles…all just noise. I’d be better off setting aside an hour a day to have a cup of tea with my mother, and a long chat with my dad while we still have years left.

There are people that bring true value to our lives…family, friends, team members. Then there are wolves at our door; diversions that appeal to pride, greed, and lust…social media, money, porn etc…In the modern era our job is to preserve energy for the right reasons and treat our headspace like a sanctuary.

It’s exhausting, isn’t it?

Miles Ryan Harris and Scolla are right there with me, dropping an absolute (sold out!) gem on Sound.xyz with ‘Exhausted,’ a tale about focus, distraction, and the important things in life. Been watching these lads for awhile, but had to chime in on this wavy and unexpected collab which brings wholesome energy to a rap space filled with ignorance (let’s be honest). Over thicc drums and soulful chords the fellas spit facts about living in the modern age, the hustle, and the dangers of becoming estranged from one’s self.

Both Miles and Scolla are web3 veterans with a multitude of sold out drops on Sound, and they bring Detroit and Orange County together to showcase diverse styles and build on the success they’re experiencing via music NFTs. So dope to see both artists get shine in this new space while their music goes critically under-appreciated on Spotify. They are a testament to the way new technology helps art gain exposure and recognition.

Be sure to check Scolla’s other projects, VibeHaus (a label/collective and music + tech incubator), and Future Surf Radio show where he co-hosts. And of course stay tuned to Miles’ upcoming releases via Sound and his own website, as he continues to be one of web3’s most talented and prolific artists.//
